For over 25 years, Jan-Willem van Schaik (the Netherlands) has been following the bicycle and e-bike industry for trade magazines. Initially he worked for a Dutch dealer magazine and made the move to Bike Europe in 2007 to expand his scope to the international industry. As such he closely followed the market transition from bicycles to e-bikes right from the start. He took over the helm at Bike Europe in 2018.
