Speaker bio:
Naroa Coretti (USA) is a Research Assistant and master’s candidate in the MIT Media Lab City Science group. A mechanical engineer with a master’s degree in industrial engineering, Naroa’s research is focused on transforming bicycle-sharing systems to offer a more attractive and efficient solution for users, allowing more people to enjoy their cities in a new and environmentally friendly way. She is currently designing and building an autonomous bicycle that can be requested on-demand, will drive to the user, and then will behave as a regular bicycle during the journey before returning to autonomous mode to pick up its next rider. Besides, it would serve as an efficient solution for the first- or last-mile, improving the access to mass transit, and reducing car-dependency for longer trips.
